                                    END OF YEAR 2024 CONSULTANCY UNIT REPORT

Protocol

The consultancy outfit of the Association of Cross River State Local Government Pensioners (ACRLGP) was created in 2014, with the sole aim of harnessing the untapped knowledge of all the experienced, seasoned retired Local Government employees and to transfer same to serving civil/public servants and members of the public in general.

The consultancy is made up of experienced retired Civil/Public servants, members of the Academia and Chartered Professionals.

OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES

* Creating website where the curriculum vitae (CV), of experienced Local Government retirees would be posted for the information of institutions, establishments and non-governmental organizations that may require their services.

website also carries every vital information about the Association, such as the Vision, mission, profile, organizational structure, courses and programmes of the Association and its activities.

* Form a think tank of experienced professionals among Local Government retirees, serving Civil/Public servants, erudite Academia and Chartered Professionals.

* Publications of the Association, including periodic magazines like “the Pensioners’ and other books.

* Coverage of the Association activities

2025 PLAN OF ACTION

  1. Advocacy visits to stakeholders, such as:

* The Department of Establishment/Service matters for collaboration,

* Local Government Service Commission for synergy and training purposes,

* Ministry of Local Government Pension Board, other MDAs and Ministries.

  1. Revival of the quarterly magazine “the Pensioners” online.
  2. Orientation and Pre-retirement workshops for the staff of the unified Local Governments for optimal performance.
  3. Revival of the skills acquisition programmes, entrepreneurial and Agricultural programmes of the Association in collaboration with the Skills acquisition unit.

The outfit is therefore committed to training and retraining through Seminars, Workshops, Conferences, Symposia and retreats for personnel of public and private organizations to enable them to acquire specific knowledge, skills and experience that would facilitate and enhance efficiency, effectiveness and high productivity in service delivery. It is also devoted to rendering special services in critical areas of needs in various establishments.

Skills and entrepreneurial centres are intended to be created to facilitate the training programmes for wealth creation and self-reliance.

We intend to pursue these goals to better the living standards of the senior citizens.

* Create/established exhibition centres  to showcase our cultural crafts, artifacts and tourism

* Cascade the Consultancy outfit to the zones, Local Government Areas and Ward levels for effective coverage and participation.

In conclusion, I wish to express the outfit’s appreciation to the State Chairman of our Association, State Exco and all the Echelon of the Association for giving us the opportunity to serve.
