OPERATION PROVE THAT YOU ARE NOT A GHOST.
After 35 years of meritorious service to Cross River State, this was what many Senior citizens got. The iron gate of the Auditor General for Local Government was closed against them, rain drizzling on them with no one to attend to them. They were there at the invitation of the Auditor General.
WHY WERE THEY INVITED AND WHAT WAS THEIR CRIME?
They had to prove to the CRS Auditor General for Local Government, Madam Franka Inok, for the up tenth time, that they were not ghosts as declared by the Almighty AGLG.
Sadly, many of the poor pensioners suffered, many died in the process and sadly too, many of those who knew the truth failed to tell the Governor the truth.
That is now history, but pensioners and their umbrella Association [ACRSLGP] can never forget that ugly part of their history.
Another round of punishment for Local Government pensioners at the office of the Auditor General for Local Government.
Hundreds of the same “dead” pensioners who came for clearance two weeks earlier were asked to go again for round two amist the hardships pensioners were already going through.
